Pharmaceutical name: Atorvastatin
Pack: 10 pills (10 mg)
Atorlip, which contains the active ingredient Atorvastatin calcium, belongs to the class of medications known as statins or HMG CoA reductase inhibitors. When taken in conjunction with an exercise regimen and a balanced diet, these tablets may effectively reduce "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides while also increasing "good" cholesterol (HDL) levels in the bloodstream. Additionally, it may help lower the cholesterol buildup on arterial walls. Reducing cholesterol levels can lower the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and other heart-related issues.
Atorlip should be taken as prescribed by a physician, typically once daily via oral administration. The tablets can be ingested with or without food and should be taken with a full glass of water. For the appropriate dosage, consult a healthcare provider, as it will depend on the individual's condition and response to the medication. It is advised to avoid grapefruit juice and grapefruits during treatment, as they may affect the levels of the drug in the bloodstream. Atorlip may lead to side effects such as fever, nosebleeds, a runny or stuffy nose, constipation, headaches, diarrhea, and nausea.
If side effects persist or if you experience more serious reactions such as difficulty breathing or swallowing, loss of appetite, changes in mood or mental state, muscle pain, dark urine, jaundice, or joint pain, contact your physician immediately.
Seek emergency medical help right away if you experience an allergic reaction. Symptoms commonly related to this include difficulty in breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes, and hives.
Atorlip may not be appropriate for everyone. Always consult with your healthcare provider before starting this medication if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, attempting to conceive, taking any other medications (whether prescription or over-the-counter), using herbal products or supplements, or if you have known allergies or other health concerns.
